Holoholo Keauhou - Mauka Makai (complimentary)
Experience Keauhou from the mountain to the sea. Today you stand in a place where the greatest Hawaiian Kings and Queens once stood. It is the cradle of royal lineage. We invite you to discover the mysteries, myths and histories of this rich culture. Join your Hawaiian guide for a 1.5 hour hiking tour of the Lekeleke Burial Grounds where the historic Battle of Kuamoo took place—the final battle between the traditional and ancient culture of Hawaii and the ways of the modern world.
The moolelo or stories of the land will guide you to the ocean; the second part of this experience is a one hour sail aboard a Hawaiian sailing canoe where your unique Hawaiian cultural experience continues with stories of the ocean.
Total walking distance is approximately two miles. The hike includes rocky terrain and uneven lava rock surfaces. Walking shoes are highly recommended. Visit the Concierge desk to make reservations. This 2-part tour is offered Monday & Wednesday from 8:00 to 11:00 A.M.
There is a cost associated with the canoe portion of this experience. Land tour is offered complimentary.
Meet at the pool terrace, near The Link at 7:50am. Reservations required. Sign up at concierge desk or contact concierge for advance reservations.
